First Link® is a partnership program with health-care professionals and the Alzheimer Society of Toronto to ensure that individuals and families living with dementia receive the support and information they need throughout the course of the disease.
The Alzheimer Society of Toronto is proud to offer an exciting range of activities to enhance social inclusion, physical well-being and explore the benefits of creative therapies for people with dementia and their care partners.
The Alzheimer Society Music Project provides people with dementia with MP3 players pre-loaded with personally meaningful music. Listening to personalized music is a simple yet incredibly powerful activity with the potential to reignite older memories, increase physical and social activity, and improve mood, cognition, communication, sleep, and overall quality of life.
Finding Your Way® helps people living with dementia, their families, caregivers and communities to recognize the risk of going missing, be prepared for incidents of going missing, and ensure that people with dementia can live safely in the community.
The Caregiver Project for Seniors is a non-disease specific program to help maximize autonomy, capacity, and resiliency of individuals who are primary caregivers of older adults who need support to continue living at home.
The Alzheimer’s Counselling and Financial Support Program, funded by the George C. Hunt Family Foundation, provides counselling, support and individualized funding packages for up to 100 individuals with dementia and their families each year.
Teleconnect is a social telephone program delivered by trained volunteers of Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
The Active Minds Club offers an inclusive, age-appropriate space for recreational, cognitive, and social stimulation, while extending respite opportunities for caregivers.
